WINDOWS OF NEW HOPE – THE REFUGEE CAMP IN HANOVER photographed by Kaisar Ahamed
Why did you leave your home?
The Hochschule Hannover – University of Applied Sciences and Arts offers an international photojournalism and photo-documentation program every year. I received a DAAD scholarship in 2018.
What is it like to live in Hanover?
Hanover has the biggest city forest in Europe. It makes the city very green with good air quality for breathing. People are very helpful, open-minded and have good manners. Hanover is not a small city but also not that big to fit all the clichés associated with big cities.
Does it give you anything you didn’t find at home?
I live in a student accomodation together with people from all around the world. You have the chance to understand and learn about different cultures, religions and different ways of thinking.
How do you feel about Bangladesh seen at a distance?
Actually, we have enough potential, but corruption is an ongoing problem in Bangladesh. Because of a few corrupt people, the whole country is suffering.
How often do you clean your windows per year?
Haha …. This year, I have cleaned them maybe once.
