Who is Dascha Ha?
Just a girl who loves photography and retouching. Nothing special. I do my best.
The best things in life are free? (Ray Henderson)
It depends on the person. If your mind is positively focused on life the answer is always yes.
War or peace?
Peace.
You’ll stop wearing black when they make a darker color?
Ha-ha. “Black is not a color, it’s a statement”. I don’t wear black all the time, but it helps me at work and I like dark colors, each in its own way.
The Wassily Chair was so new. People had jumped on it at an exhibition to destroy it. They thought the whole world was going to end now with this furniture?!? (Marcel Breuer)
Humans are wasteful and desire things to possess them. I like minimalism and for me it doesn’t need much. Yet it should last and be long lived – that is why I love Bauhaus style and classic timeless things that never go out of fashion.
You are as much interested in the smallest detail as you are in the whole appearance?
The small detail is the essence of the whole, after all.
What’s the ugliest part of the body? (Frank Zappa)
From my point of view there is no “ugly” part. Everything makes proper sense, serves a purpose and can look good from the right angle.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?
Absolutely.
A photograph is a secret about a secret, the more it tells you the less you know? (Diane Arbus)
Everyone has their very distinct connection or memory of things whether from the past or dreams. So we are all quite different and our emotions not the same.
How do you feel in present times, a time of computational image-making and virtual reality? Photography is somehow losing its credibility…
I don’t think so. You can express yourself through art in so many different ways you don’t necessarily need a “perfect photo”. The only thing that matters is your way of seeing, be it a moving image, a drawing or analogue photography. In the end, it is just a product or tool to express yourself with.
Would you spend the last of your savings on jewelry?
Never.
The revolution will not be televised? (Gil Scott-Heron)
I agree – and it kind of fits the current situation, too.
Who likes to die under palm trees?
Humans always want what they don’t have. And even when they have it all they desire more. However, you don’t need much for being happy, you simply have to decide in favor of happiness.
Borscht or Blinis?
Vietnamese … I do not prefer Russian cuisine if possible.
Your goal in life? To live large or as we say “wie eine Göttin in Frankreich”?
Happiness is what you make it – to me it is the sea, its radiating calm and power (I was born at the sea and miss it immensely).
