Burn after reading!
A rough guide to La Scala Paris and its resurrection formula: Built in 1873 and inspired by the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, La Scala was a famous Belle Époque café-concert hall in the heart of Paris. Over half a century later, La Scala was transformed into a splendid art deco motion-picture theatre, featuring the cinematic art of icons like Jacques Tati, Luis Buñuel or Jean-Luc Godard. By 1977 it had become the capital’s first multiplex for pornographic films. In February 2016, Mélanie and Frédéric Biessy bought the ruined building and decided to rebuild it to invent a private art theatre, restaurant & bar. La Scala Paris reopened doors in September 2018.
