MR MITRI photographed by Laurent Meri
Dimitri “MR MITRI”, 37, is from Avignon.
I’m a film maker and photographer.
Your favorite occupation?
Stroll, take pictures, skate, contemplate, swim, walk, have a drink with my friends, listen (and sometimes make) music. Little is enough for me, for me the most important and not to let myself be overwhelmed by the frantic pace of the big cities.
Your idea of happiness?
Happiness is becoming who you are, feeling in harmony with yourself – life is a series of trials to overcome, but if I feel like you are in the right place at the right time, surrounded by the people you love I feel happy.
Your idea of misery?
Social networks are all I want to remove from my life: The lie, the immediacy, the superficiality.
What is your present state of mind?
Like many, the covid crisis made me question myself, personally and professionally. For the first time, since I have been in Barcelona for about 3 years, I do not feel in the right place or at the right time, I find the atmosphere of the city very anxiety-provoking, and little promising for the future. I try to listen to my feelings and be inspired by them for future projects.
Your favorite motto?
“Whoever waits for all danger to be removed before setting sail, will never take to sea”.
